The Centre’s nine Conservation Laboratories conduct projects and studies aimed at conserving, monitoring and maintaining cultural heritage. The laboratories are divided into several specialised sectors where all educational activities take place and are monitored, in accordance with the technical and scientific responsibilities assumed by the Centre.
The conservation laboratories are where research into the various restoration methods and materials is applied in a practical sense. The information gained from these activities is then used in educational and training courses offered to university students, restoration professionals and the wider public.
The results of these activities are presented at conferences and workshops and made available through specialist publications, which include the Cronache series.
