Brief description of the interventions

Thanks to a choral work of the Laboratory with the Scientific Laboratories of the JRC, in-depth diagnostic investigations have been carried out aimed at investigating the artistic technique, the constituent materials and the conservative state.

In the light of the scientific results obtained, the restoration work on the tarot cards provided for the consolidation of some fragments of the pictorial film and the cracks present on the golden background, as well as compensation for the gaps that compromised the stability and legibility of the works, thus improving their conservation conditions in compliance with the original materials.
