The project involves study and conservation activities dedicated to the photographic archives of the Piedmontese Baroque Exhibition of 1937.

The photographic material from the 1937 exhibition is kept in the Fondazione Torino Musei (Turin) photographic archives. The material includes 1345 glass plates (usually with negative images, used in photography as the photographic support) forming part of the photographic campaign ordered by Vittorio Viale between 1936 and 1937, which is in turn part of the broader photographic archive project formally established in the early ’30s to document the museum heritage and, more in general, the monuments and art of Piedmont.

The project itself is divided into three phases:

  •  Transport of the plates to the Centro’s Paper and Photographic Laboratory
  •  Cleaning, stabilisation, conditioning and conservative maintenance of the plates
  •  Digitisation and cataloguing of the plates
