CAPuS
Conservation of Art in Public Spaces

The project, funded by the European Community within the framework of the Erasmus + Programme for the development of collaboration and networking activities for innovation and the exchange of good practices in the field of higher education, was aimed at the development of guidelines for the protection and conservation of contemporary works of art belonging to street and urban art, and at the introduction of an innovative training module focussed on these issues.

Coordinated by the University of Turin, an ‘knowledge alliance’ formed by producers, conservators, universities and research centres involved street artists and public stakeholders in the study and research process to investigate the materials, techniques and specificities of contemporary artworks that populate our urban contexts and have social and cultural relevance. The CCR carried out diagnostic investigation campaigns and experimented documentation and conservation methodologies for some important murals in the City of Turin (the mural dedicated to the victims of the ThyssenKrupp tragedy tragedia della ThyssenKrupp and the mural by Millo Dive in me realised in the Barriera di Milano neighbourhood Dive in me realizzato nel quartiere Barriera di Milano contributing to the realisation of an innovative training module for academic courses.
