LINES OF ENERGY
The photographic object over time. Creation, interpretation, conservation
Intesa Sanpaolo, the La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre and theIGIIC Association – Gruppo Italiano International Institute for Conservation, on the occasion of the 2023 edition of Artissima, present three Appointments Live Streaming and One Round Table in person for the 2023 edition of Energy lines
For some years now, the Energy Lines programme has been focusing on the conservation of photography.
After the 2021 and 2022 events, which took place with remote interventions by key players and experts in the sector, the path taken is continued through a conference in a mixed format, with three meetings presenting content specifically aimed at analysing cases of archives and collections dedicated to photography, from the point of view of the conservation, study and dissemination of the materials stored there, completed by a round table meeting, on the morning of Friday 17 November, at the Gallerie d’Italia in Turin. The entire programme is coordinated by Sara Abram, Walter Guadagnini and Francesco Tedeschi, who also curated the previous discussions on the topic.
The focus this year is on relationship between time and photography, both in the sense of recording and documenting a temporal phenomenon and in the vocation to preserve and transmit the image to the future.
The first three moments will see the participation of conservators and scholars who will present specific cases within the themes: Conservation and use of photographic archives; Photography as a memory of art; Photography as a work of art.
