Advanced training in conservation of mosaics
A programme funded by UNDP Syria, dedicated to the advanced training of five Syrian professionals, officials of the Directorate-General for Antiquities and Museums of Syria (DGAM Syria), offering them the opportunity to engage with relevant international experience and expertise in the field of mosaic conservation.
The project included a distance learning course with an interdisciplinary approach, aimed at providing technical-scientific knowledge for the conservation of mosaics, both in situ and detached and resupported. Through case studies and international research projects, participants deepened:
- Design and documentation
- Diagnosis of conservation status
- Methodologies of restoration
- Development of new materials for the conservation of stone and glass mosaics
An initiative that promoted the exchange of expertise and innovation in the protection of cultural heritage.
