Enhancing Skills for Heritage Conservation – Piemonte – Kosovo Knowledge Exchange
The Enhancing Skills for Heritage Conservation – Piemonte–Kosovo Knowledge Exchange project promotes the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the Centro Conservazione Restauro "La Venaria Reale" (CCR), the University of Priština in Kosovska Mitrovica, and H.Opes Foundation, with the aim of strengthening professional capacities in the field of cultural heritage conservation in Kosovo. The initiative is carried out within the framework of the Piedmont Region's international cooperation programme.
The project delivers a theoretical and hands-on training programme for young professionals, researchers, and heritage specialists, focusing on advanced methodologies for the documentation and study of cultural heritage, including photogrammetry, 3D recording, non-invasive diagnostic techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches to conservation. Training activities take place both at the CCR laboratories in Venaria Reale and in Kosovo, where participants apply the acquired knowledge to a heritage site selected in collaboration with local partners.
Beyond technical capacity building, the project aims to foster long-term collaboration between Italian and Kosovan institutions, encouraging dialogue among universities, heritage professionals, and local communities.
Through training, knowledge exchange, and public engagement activities, the initiative contributes to the sustainable preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage while supporting international cooperation and the professional development of a new generation of conservation specialists.
