In the framework of a Technical-Scientific Cooperation Agreement between the JRC and Xi’an Northern Polytechnic University – NPU Institute of Culture and Heritage, was organised in 2021 a Online summer school on the fundamental principles of cultural heritage conservation for a group of NPU students, entitled: Science, technology and innovation for the preservation of cultural heritage.

Also in 2021, the JRC joined the Belt and Road Cultural Heritage Global Alliance, a network of universities, museums, research institutes and organisations from countries and regions along the Belt and Road. The network, managed by Northwestern Polytechnical University and led by the Shaanxi Province Cultural Heritage Administration, has invited the JRC to annual conferences and symposia dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage.
