The collaboration between the Centro Conservazione Restauro La Venaria Reale and the Museums in Strada Nuova Genoa for the pilot project ontapestry September–October, part of Twelve Month Series of English manufacture (Mortlake, early seventeenth century) belonging to the civic collections.
The initiative is aimed at defining a shared protocol for the study, conservation and enhancement of the entire series, carried out in collaboration with the Degree course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the University of Turin, in agreement with the Centre.
The first phase of the project involved the dismantling of three tapestries of the Series displayed at the Palazzo della Prefettura and, in parallel, the setting up of three other cloths from the warehouses, in compliance with the criteria of correct ‘rotating’ exposure.
After the dismantling, the tapestry September–October was transferred to the Centre for the initiation of study and conservation activities.
