Restoration and improvement of the cultural and historical heritage of the University of Addis Ababa
The JRC is a partner in the three-year project for the renovation and enhancement of Palazzo Genette Leul and its Ethnographic Museum, promoted by the Polytechnic University of Turin and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
The project aims to preserve the building – built in the 1930s and considered ‘the first modern building in Addis Ababa’ – and to renovate the museum spaces, transforming them into a reference point for the academic community and a cultural, tourist and economic resource for the territory.
The JRC contributes with its expertise in the handling and securing of museum collections, as well as in specialist training on conservation and restoration practices.
