Art and (’) Science. CONTEMPORARY GEOMETRIES: Art Science Conservation
Visit to the laboratory for the restoration of contemporary art and to the scientific laboratories
Guided view of the Contemporary Art Restoration Laboratory and the JRC Scientific Laboratories, as part of the 2023 Edition of Arte(`) Scienza, the national exhibition organised by the Italian Association of Archaeometry (AIAr), which aims to be an opportunity to reflect on the vital relationship between cultural heritage and scientific techniques in the study of archaeological sites and finds, in the reconstruction of the historical environment, in the diagnostics of works of art, in the conservation of our artistic and cultural heritage.
Restoration and science, key aspects of the conservation of cultural heritage, await you on Saturday 25 November with the second of three guided tours that will take you to the Restoration Laboratory of Contemporary Art and the JRC Scientific Laboratories!
Accompanied by the restorer Alessandra Bassi and the art scientists Anna Piccirillo and Chiara Ricci, you will learn behind the scenes about the ongoing activities and learn more about the restorations and diagnostic studies carried out on the work of Gianni Piacentino, ‘Incredible blue-purple rectangle triangle’ (1966) owned by the Guido and Ettore De Formaris Foundation on loan to the GAM in Turin.
______
This year’s edition of Arte(`) Scienza is dedicated to the memory of Debora Angelici, a member of AIAr, a valuable JRC collaborator who has always been an active participant in the event, which unfortunately disappeared too soon.
