The glass and metal chandelier was made in the mid-1800s.
The lamapdario is kept at the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, in the room in front of the chapel.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the chandelier in 2013.
The restorers dismantled the chandelier and cleaned all the pieces.
They washed the glass parts and cleaned the metal parts with chemicals.
They dried the parts under a special lamapada.
They repainted the candles.
They rebuilt the electrical system and replaced the damaged hooks.

Restoration

The chandelier of S. Uberto’s anti-mast has been dismantled to carry out a cleaning process that varies according to the material. The silver leaf gaps on the pins were supplemented with silver powder. A protective layer has been applied to all components. The gilding of the plates has been integrated with a pictorial retouching. The glass pendants were cleaned by immersion in water with surfactant. The same type of cleaning was also adopted for the beads strands, followed by drying under IR lamp. The electrical system was then restored, the candles were repainted and the chandelier was reassembled. Some of the hooks for the pendants have been replaced with brass wires.
