Facilitated description: 

 

The 2 candelabras are metal works made in 1850. 
The candlesticks are kept in the chapel of the Hunting Palace of Stupinigi. 
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the candlesticks in 2013. 
The restorers dismantled and cleaned the candlesticks. 
They treated the oxidized metal parts (ruined due to contact with air).
They dried the candlesticks under special lamps. 
In the end they painted the candlesticks to protect them from the sun's rays and dust.

Restoration

The restoration of the work began with mechanical cleaning and chemical cleaning to remove dirt deposits. In the most oxidized areas the cleaning has been deepened in a localized way. A general dehydration was then carried out with baths in ethyl alcohol and drying under an IR lamp and with a heat-convector. Finally, an acrylic resin protection was applied and the pieces were reassembled.
