Abstract of the intervention:
Restoration
The restoration operations mainly involved the restoration of the frame. The painting, in fact, did not require particular interventions, except for some small pictorial reintegrations along the edges and a cleaning of the back from dust deposits.
Frame
On the frame, the surface deposits were removed and the raisings of paint film, gilding and the related preparation were fixed. Subsequently, the decoese zones were consolidated, the gold was cleaned and the gaps in the support (balsite) were plastered. The latter are subsequently carved, pinstriped, gilded and coated. The gaps of the preparatory layers, after plastering (plaster and glue) were supplemented with watercolor colors. The abrasions were veiled with watercolor colors and gold in shell, while in some areas it was necessary to supplement with paint colors. Finally, an opaque film was made.
