Preservation report (23/03/1988) and preliminary handwritten notes. The phototypes document the restoration of the frescoes and stuccoes in the theater of the Villa Reale.

Facilitated description

The murals in the Court Theatre of the Villa Reale in Monza, now attributed to Giovanni Perego, are from about 1807.

Restorer Pinin Brambilla Barcilon restored the paintings in 1987-1988.

Initially, the restorer focused on the ceiling and the lower part.

In agreement with Councillor Giovanna Mussi, the restorer has extended the restoration to the entire ceiling.

During the works, he discovered original decorations under the repaintings, which he decided to recover.

The restorer removed the plaster remade and altered to reveal other decorations.
