Facilitated description
The mural paintings of the Oratory of the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan called "Oratorio della Passione" are from the first half of 1500.
At the time of the restoration the works were attributed to Aurelio Luini, today they are attributed to Bernardino Luini.
The restorer Pinin Brambilla Barcilon restored the works in 1979.
He cleaned the paintings of dust and old restorations.
It removed the layer of white surface deposits produced by the degradation of materials.
He integrated the gaps (reconstructed the material or color of the missing parts) into watercolor and made the restoration recognizable from the original painting.
