Restoration report (10/1993-04/1994) and photographic documentation relating to the painting Jesus Among the Doctors (School of San Francisco).
Facilitated description
The work "Jesus among the doctors" is a painting on canvas of the first half of the 1500s preserved at the Archbishop's Curia of Milan.
The restorer Pinin Brambilla Barcilon restored the work in 1993-1994 under the direction of Simonetta Coppa.
The restorer and the management studied the painting and realized that the work originally had a wooden board as a support.
In the past, due to the poor state of preservation, the painting was transported (transportation of a painting from an old support to a new one) from the table to a canvas.
The painting had many gaps (missing parts).
The restorer Pinin Brambilla consolidated the painting (make the surfaces more stable) and integrated it (reconstructed the material or color of the missing parts) with neutral colors, without imitating the missing colors.
