Restoration report (11/2013) on the work carried out on the painting depicting the portrait of Aldus of Manutius (disambiguation) (Unknown).

Facilitated description

The work ‘Aldo Manuzio’ by an unknown artist is a painting on canvas from around 1620 that is kept at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan.
Restorer Pinin Brambilla Barcilon restored the work in 2013.
The painting had an old and very yellowed painting.
The background and hat of the character had been redone in previous restorations.
Restorer Pinin Brambilla removed some makeovers that were no longer suitable for preservation and that covered parts of the original painting.
It has carried out a selective and gradual cleaning (cleaning the surface of the work of art of the dirt deposited over time).
