Abstract of the intervention:

The canvas The Virgin, the Archangel Gabriel and Saints Eusebius, Rocco and Sebastiano by Sebastiano Ricci was restored on the occasion of the reopening of the Reggia di Venaria and the exhibition in its original location in the chapel of Sant'Uberto (left altar of the transept) together with the other three works that adorned the altars of this environment. The altarpiece, affected by several movements during its conservative history, has come to the Royal Palace from the Aula Magna of the Palazzo dell'Università di Torino, where it was preserved from 1964 to 2006.

Restoration

The painting is in good conservation condition, the last restoration dates back to 1999 on the occasion of the exhibition The Triumphs of the Baroque. Architecture in Europe 1600 – 1750, (Stupinigi Hunting Palace from 4 July to 7 November 1999) by Rava & co. S.r.l. responsible Antonio Rava, works supervision by Cristina Mossetti. The current intervention has therefore consisted of a light cleaning from the carbon black deposited in recent years.
