Abstract of the intervention:

Restoration

The restoration of the TOP 2494 ampoule in a fragmentary state was carried out as part of an educational project by the teacher Marco Demmelbauer.
On the neck a cleaning was carried out with chemical solvents and scalpels in order to remove the carbonate coatings.
On the two bases glue residues from a previous intervention were removed and the surface was cleaned of carbonate, earthy and greasy deposits. Subsequently, the areas of the surface degraded by iridescence were consolidated with acrylic resin. Finally, the fragments were glued with epoxy resin after laying on the fractures of an intervention layer.
