Abstract of the intervention:
Restoration
The painting was removed from the frame to allow cleaning of the verso through the use of vacuum cleaners and rubber. During this phase the pre-existing patches and the gray stucco placed in the center of the painting were removed. The canvas was then smoothed out, the pictorial layers were consolidated and perimeter strips were applied. The work has therefore been tensioned on a new frame.
The pictorial film has been cleaned by removing the atmospheric particulate layer and the altered paint, making the previously hidden colors more readable. Subsequently, the stoppage of the pictorial layers and the operations of re-adhesion and smoothing of the color were carried out. The painting was then plastered, reintegrated with watercolor and varnish veils and painted with final protective.
