Facilitated description: 

 

Casolari is a painting on wood by the painter Gaspar De Witte. 
The painting is kept at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin. 
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the painting in 2014. 
The restorers checked the structure of the wooden board.
Then they cleaned the painting and the frame of the dust. 
They stopped the parts of color that were peeling off. 
They filled with stucco (plaster and glue layer) the color deficiencies of the painting and the missing wooden parts of the frame. 
In the end they colored the putty and filled the color gaps.

Restoration

A general structural revision of the support was made on the painting. In addition, the pictorial surface and the frame have been subjected to cleaning, consolidation, plastering and chromatic retouching.
