Facilitated description:

The three armchairs are made of wood and red velvet (a type of fabric).
The armchairs were made during the 1500s.
The armchairs are kept at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the armchairs in 2014.
The restorers cleaned and reinforced the wooden parts.
They cleaned the velvet parts from the dust with a small vacuum cleaner.
In the end they put a product to protect the wood from the sun's rays and dust.

Abstract of the intervention:

Restoration

The restoration of the three armchairs of the Gualino collection began with the chemical cleaning of the frame. To give more solidity to the structure, four cantons have been glued to the underside of the seat. The fabrics of the backrest and seat have been vacuumed with a micro aspirator. Finally, a protective layer of microcrystalline wax was applied to the wood, polished with soft cloths.
