The 4 chairs are made of wood and fabric.
The chairs were made during the 1500s.
The chairs are kept at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the chairs in 2014.
The restorers cleaned the wooden parts with chemicals.
They cleaned the fabric parts with a small vacuum cleaner.
In the end they put a product to protect the wooden parts from the sun's rays and dust.
Abstract of the intervention:
Restoration
The restoration of the four chairs of the Gualino collation involved the chemical cleaning of the wooden frame and the aspiration of the textile part. The wood was then protected with a layer of microcrystalline wax, polished with soft cloths.
