Facilitated description: 

 

The chest is a large wooden case with a lid that you can open.
The chest was built during the 1400s.
The chest is kept at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin. 
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the chest in 2014. 
The restorers cleaned the chest from the ruined wax.
They cleaned inside the chest with a small vacuum cleaner to remove dust. 
They filled the missing wood parts with wood similar to the original. 
They put a product to protect the chest from the sun's rays and dust. 

 

 

 

 

Abstract of the intervention: 

 

Restoration

The restoration of the chest, inv. 93 of the Gualino collection provided for the removal of the altered wax, which concealed the inlay decoration on the front panel and on the side ones. The interior of the work was vacuumed with microaspirator and soft brushes and cleaned with wishab tires. The missing carving parts were then supplemented with the same wood as the original (walnut) and were colour-matched to the rest of the work. Finally, a final protective layer was laid out.
