Facilitated description:
The textile furnishings of Castello di Masino are fabric works such as curtains for windows and blankets for beds.
The fabrics are kept in different rooms of the Castle of Masino in Caravino.
The Castle of Masino is an asset of the Italian Environment Fund.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the fabrics in 2018.
Fabrics belong to these rooms:
- Chamber of the Viceroy
- Room of the Three Windows
- Queen's Bedroom
- Chamber of the Viceroy
- Hall of the Gobelins
- Chamber of Ambassadors of Austria
- Summer Dining Room
Abstract of the intervention:
Restoration
During 2018-2019, the restoration of some textile furnishings of the Castello di Masino was undertaken. In particular, the project included interventions on the following furnishings, some of which have already been the subject of previous projects (year 2016 macro-committee 17mc-MT-2016):
- Chamber of the Viceroy: two pairs of window curtains in crimson bottom lamapasso and lining in blue liserè satin;
- Chamber of the Three Windows: pair of curtains behind the crimson taffeta sofa;
Room from the Queen's bed: pair of curtains and two taffeta curtains chine a la branche;
- Chamber of the Viceroy: pair of passing door curtains;
- Hall of the Gobelins: three Mantuans;
- Chamber of Ambassadors of Austria: bed cover in striped satin;
- Summer Dining Room: embroidered fabric to be used as a new cover of the oval table.
