Facilitated description:
The piece of work is a board of wood, mother-of-pearl, metal and ivory (material that is obtained from the tusks of elephants).
The table represents Emanuele Filiberto on horseback.
The table represents the same figure carved in the center of a table made by Peters and now preserved at the Civic Museum of Ancient Art in Turin.
Clemente Boeri made the table after 1850.
The table is kept at the Ducal Castle of Agliè.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre carried out a maintenance (small interventions) on the table in 2017 for an exhibition.
Abstract of the intervention:
Maintenance carried out on the occasion of the exhibition on display Genius and mestria. Furniture and cabinetmakers at the Savoy court between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries (Reggia di Venaria, Sala delle Arti 17 March - 15 July 2018).
