Abstract of the intervention:
Restoration
The pair of Savonarola chairs of the Castello della Manta was restored as part of a project that involved interventions on different textile and furniture furnishings. The operations began with the disinfestation in anoxic chamber for a period of three weeks and the application of anti-moth product with a brush. The restoration has aimed at the structural recovery and recovery of the disjointed parts. In order to restore the original structural function, the previous glues on the slats of the pincer supports were removed and vinyl glue and wooden pins were applied. The surface has been chemically cleaned and protected with microcrystalline wax.
