Facilitated description:

The Moncalieri Market is a painting on canvas.
Painter Pieter Bolckman painted the painting during the 1700s.
The painting is kept at the Castle of Moncalieri.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Centre restored the painting in 2018.
The restorers dismantled the painting from the frame.
They fixed a part of color that was peeling off at the top right.
They made light paintings in the part of the sky to even out the painting and show the effects of light and shadow.
Then they cleaned the frame of the dust.
They glued the parts of wood that were coming off.
They painted with watercolors the parts where the color had been ruined.
They eventually put an adhesive strip between the painting and the frame to space them out.

Abstract of the intervention:

Restoration

The painting was removed from the frame. At the level of the small painting was made a punctual stop of a small lift near the upper margin to the right. It was therefore decided to intervene with veils on some obvious dissonances in the part of the sky. Subsequently, some lights and shadows were defined that constitute the pictorial shots on the clouds based on comparisons with paintings by the same author.
The intervention on the frame was then performed. The surface has been cleaned, the lifts have been repositioned and consolidated and the abrasions have been veiled with watercolor. At the end, a strip of Teflon was inserted to space out the frame and painting and avoid abrasions.
