Facilitated description:
View of the fountain and parterre of the castle of Agliè is a watercolor on paper.
The painter Maria Anna Di Savoia painted the painting in 1820.
The painting is kept at the Castle of Racconigi.
The La Venaria Reale Conservation and Restoration Center did a maintenance (small interventions) on the painting in 2019 for an exhibition.
The restorers have the dust painting.
They stopped the parts of color that were peeling off.
They reinforced the connecting parts between the painting and the frame.
Abstract of the intervention:
The extraordinary maintenance work carried out on the occasion of the exhibition of the work at the exhibition Journey through the gardens of Europe from André Le Notre to Henry James (Royal Palace of Venaria Reale, 2019), involved the painting and the frame.
The intervention consisted in cleaning the surface and consolidating the black pygmy and the pictorial film in contact with the metal staples.
