SUPERSTAR
Sustainable Preservation Strategies for Street Art

The PRIN-2020 SUPERSTAR Sustainable Preservation Strategies for Street Art project has set itself the goal of defining innovative guidelines for the conservation strategy of street art, aimed at safeguarding its powerful social and cultural message in the urban context.
Attention was paid to the materials used by the artists and to the environmental risks and anthropogenic stresses they suffer for the identification of innovative cleaning methods and protective coating materials selected with particular attention to the durability aspects, studied and tested as part of the project for the development of an integrated protocol for long-term sustainable monitoring and conservation.
The CCR collaborated with the University of Turin, experimenting with the methods of laser cleaning of mural pictorial surfaces and diagnostics related to the control of conservation operations, and hosting dissemination events at its headquarters at the end of the project activities.
