Preventive preservation and digital restoration for works on paper

On 19 and 20 February at the National Library, the State Archives of Turin and the JRC La Venaria Reale will be held on Conference on Preventive preservation and digital restoration for works on paper, dedicated to the role of digital technologies in the conservation and restoration of book, archival and documentary heritage.

An important opportunity for dialogue between institutions to reflect on how to integrate digital tools and good practices for the prevention and protection of paper assets.

The second day, which will take place in the Aula Magna del Centro, Ambra D’Aleo, coordinator of the Paper and Photography Laboratory, will present the case study “28 April 1906. Collection of letters and autographs by Cesare Lombroso“.

Afterwards, visit the restoration workshops.

The initiative is organised by: Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria di Torino, Soprintendenza Archivistica e Bibliografica del Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta and Archivio di Stato di Torino, in collaboration with Centro Conservazione Restauro ‘La Venaria Reale’, ANAI – Section Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta and Archivio storico e beni culturali – Tavola Valdese, with the contribution of Fondazione 1563.
