Energy lines – the 1980s. Towards other horizons

After the art conferences of the 1960s and 1970s, held in 2017 and 2018, the third edition of Linee di energia will be dedicated to the art of the 1980s. According to the formula already tested, the conference aims to compare artists, historians and art critics, curators of museums and institutions, restorers, around some of the main themes of art of the period in question. With regard to the definition of sessions divided into trends, as in the first two editions, the conference dedicated to the art of the 1980s will be structured in moments dedicated to some thematic aspects, within a framework that defines the climate of the period and highlights its character also in the profile of the definition of contemporary values, through attention to some initiatives and events that arose in that period.

The conference aims to explore, from different points of view, the multifaceted artistic, technical and poetic aspects of the decade that marks the transition from conceptual art to new post-modern artistic expressions, in the sign of colour and the overcoming of abstract art.

The initiative is promoted by Fondazione Centro Conservazione e Restauro ‘La Venaria Reale’, the IGIIC Association – Gruppo Italiano International Institute for Conservation and Intesa Sanpaolo, a banking group engaged in the conservation of the vast and diversified heritage of property and in the ‘Restitutions’ programme, with 1,300 restored works belonging to museums, archaeological sites and churches throughout Italy.
