RESTURO CONSERVATION CENTER La Venaria Realehome / The Foundation / Spaces

The ‘La Venaria Reale’ Conservation and Restoration Centre is a Foundation established in 2005 as part of the major redevelopment of the monumental complex of the Reggia di Venaria and is located in the spaces of the former 18th-century stables and riding stables, designed by Benedetto Alfieri.

In the Reggia di Venaria complex, the spaces intended to house the Centre are those of the Scuderie Alfieriane, which is the most north-eastern portion of the entire district of the Savoy residence, which underwent a radical redevelopment between 1997 and 2007.

The renovation project of the spaces reserved for the Centre was carried out by the architects Pietro Derossi, for the restoration of the container and by Giorgio Fea, for the design of the interiors. The result is an interesting dialogue between ancient and modern, completely independent and reversible, appreciable, for example, in the bold interpretation of the Aula Magna located in the east wing or of the premises hosting the Scientific Laboratories, in the west wing.
