Facilitated description

Francesco Hayez’s ‘Portrait of Alessandro Negroni Prati Morosini’ is an 1853 painting on canvas in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan.
Restorer Pinin Brambilla Barcilon restored the work in 2016.
The restorer carried out a cleaning (cleaning the surface of the work of art of the dirt deposited over time) and removed the paint in a poor state of preservation.
The restorer has carried out a plastering (a white layer of plaster and glue that extends inside a lack and that forms a smooth and uniform base on which to paint the additions) of the scratches and gaps (missing parts).
Performed the pictorial integration (reconstruction of the material or color of missing parts).
The restorer has also restored the frame (structure that supports the canvas of the painting) and the frame.
