The Centre’s Scientific Laboratories work on various fronts, from diagnostics to research applied to Cultural Heritage.

The laboratory’s research activities develop on from discussions between restorers on matters concerning conservation and restoration. The Scientific Laboratories also promote the Centre’s participation in national and international research projects.

The Centre’s diagnostics department is equipped with the state-of-the-art technological instrumentation, which includes an innovative radio-tomography system for performing digital radiography and CT scans on large artefacts.

The preventive conservation activities also involve the Scientific Laboratories in specifically developed environmental monitoring projects, particularly in the scope of current projects for the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy.

 

The Scientific Laboratories also carries out diagnostic services for third party activities.
