Friday 5 June at 5 p.m., Palazzo dei Musei presents to the public the restoration of the mural paintings by Bernardino Lanino preserved in the Pinacoteca, precious testimonies of the passage of the painter, a pupil of Gaudenzio Ferrari, to the Sacro Monte of Varallo.
The restoration, carried out by CCR under the high supervision of the Superintendence of Archaeology Fine Arts and Landscape for the Provinces of Biella, Novara, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola and Vercelli, was achieved thanks to the support of CRT Foundation as part of the ‘Cantieri Diffusi’ call, which promotes recovery and enhancement of Piedmont’s cultural heritage.
The frescoes, originally in the ancient chapel of the Flagellation, will be relocated to the permanent path of the Pinacoteca with a new set-up designed to encourage better reading and use in relation to the context from which they come. The exhibition project was made possible thanks to the contribution of CRV Foundation e Cassa di Risparmio di Forlì Foundation.
